BE A GREAT PARENT

‘CHILDREN LIVE WHAT THEY LEARN’

TEN WAYS TO BE A GREAT PARENT:  (Most successful children have great parents).

1. Be a good role model.  Your child  learns from the example you set.

2. Make your child feel loved with words of praise, your hugs and your kisses.

3. Build your child’s self esteem by showing appreciation for all genuine efforts.

4. Show respect for your child’s feelings, thoughts and suggestion.

5. Encourage your child’s creativity.  As questions to stimulate curiosity and imagination.

6. Keep your word.  If you must break it, apologize and make it up to your child.

7. Stay involved.  know what’s going on in your child’s life, both at school and with friends.

8. Establish family traditions and make time to do fun things together.

9. Discipline your child fairly, firmly, and with love.  Focus on the behavior, not the child.

 10. Think positively.  By expecting the best, you empower yourself and your child to solve problems and achieve goals.

If you can honestly say  “YES” to eight of these , then you are on your way to being a great parent.

BAN : Feed the Children

You become what you eat.  A child’s diet is a critical component for the development of the body and mind from prenatal care through infancy, and growing up. The prenatal care and pediatric service to help high risk medically  under  served children in traditionally low income communities, is slowly disappearing  from health centers within the county of Westchester and other neighborhoods in America.    It is surprising to realize that many children here at home go hungry each day.  BAN feed the children program will reach out to as many children as possible.
Pregnant mothers, nursing mothers, and growing children should not face the challenge of minimal diet. The absence of available food programs for nursing mothers and growing children is already detrimentally to the overall improved health and education of our children.
When you support the BAN Foundation programs you contribute to growth, enrichment and advancement of the children as well as the communities for a better world.
